Getty Villa in Malibu

so this was my trip to the Getty Villa in Malibu! can't say that it actually made me want to draw more. most of it were sculptures and stuff. They had a really nice pool area! I thought it was pretty funny cuz there's a black statue like tanning on a rock at one end of the pool. It might have been both ends. but i just couldn't stop thinking that i seriously wanted to have a pool party or something in that pool. It was nice to walk around and look at a lot of the stuff that they had there. However, most of the art were from like greece or rome and they were sculptures. I'm not really a fan of the art painted on some of these stone canvases. They remind me of European style paintings. I think it would be like romantic paintings? I'm more for impressionism and abstract paintings or even landscape paintings. Not many of the paintings caught my eye. Actually! There was one! In the museum i believe the guys name was picabia? Francis Picabia? Anyway this was in the section that we weren't allowed to take pictures in. But i was definitely tempted to. This was actually the most interesting section to me. There were paintings titled Gladiators and Lion and Soothsayers Recompense or Square with Ariadne. These paintings really caught my eye and actually did make me kind of want to paint something. The technique and the way the colors blended really intrigued me. Other than this section i was also interested in the glass section where it showed a little about glass art and how it's made. Everything else was cool to look at but nothing really intrigued me that much. It just mainly laughed at some of them. Like the sculpture of a head of a baby. I thought it was funny cuz i felt the baby looked angry. I reminded me of an angry look baby video i saw on youtube. Anyway afterwards i went to chocolate box got some delicious hot choco and drove behind two badass looking cars. This was the same day i went to the legal art walls in Venice Beach. I can honestly say that this was one hell of an experience and will definitely do it again some day. :)
